the BLOG

It seems like I can't get away from the word BLOG lately. My husband started up his own blog about a month ago - Elastic Vapor: Life in the cloud - and in his typical fashion, he has a solid readership in less than a week. Then there is a project I am working on taking a magazine-style website with weekly publishing and changing it to daily in order to keep up with the blogosphere.

There is no escaping it, we want content, we want it now, we want it everyday. We want honest opinions, we want genuine responses, we want to be the the king/queen of our own little space of the web.

After months of working in conjunction with a travel company to get their blog started, I am once again taking time to write on my own blog and I am trying to remember why I started blogging in the first place. Was it to be honest? Absolutely. Was it to get genuine reponses. I guess so. Was it to carve out my piece of the web? Not really.

I still believe my blog is here to remind me of my other self that sometimes goes into hiding when life becomes too drab. The one that adores travel, culture, food, cooking, wine, poetry and pugs. The part of me that is more exotic than laundry, deadlines and proposals. If there are readers out there still waiting for a post,  know that I'm back and ready to explore...

Yours truly,
The Vagabond Poet
