Sin city without the sin

I have been to Las Vegas twice. Once when I was 20 and a few months shy of being legal to enjoy Vegas sins and again earlier this year when I found out I was pregnant. It’s just my luck that my two trips to sin city have been sober as a nun. I didn’t necessarily plan it that way but all in all, I must say that the Las Vegas area has lots to offer for people who aren’t necessarily into gambling, boozing and poll dancing.

Reuven has been to Las Vegas many times. As the conference capital of the US, he’s traveled on many sin-filled week long “business trips” to Las Vegas complete with clothing optional limos; strip clubs; naked waitresses and god knows what else. He actually wasn’t too disappointed when he discovered that he was heading to Vegas with a pregnant wife.

Things to do in Las Vegas sans sin and kids:

See a show. There are hundreds to choose from for every type of entertainment.

Visit a National Park. There are many National parks within a few hours of Las Vegas that are absolutely worth the drive. Red Rock Canyon is a simple drive just 24KM west of Las Vegas. Valley of Fire State Park is 88KM northwest of Las Vegas and hotter than hell! Zion National Park is 254 KM north of Las Vegas and is incredible if you want to take the longer drive. Splurge a little - rent a convertible and spend the night in quaint Springdale. Well worth the break.

Eat to your heart’s content. So perhaps you can’t enjoy the cheap booze but there are many fantastic restaurants in Las Vegas and nothing can stop you from enjoying those! Check out Las Vegas restaurants for a taste.

Hoover Dam. Don’t’ expect to spend the day there but if you love heights it’s worth seeing the drop.

Got money to burn – take a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. I have always wanted to do this but haven’t tried it yet. Next time for sure! And maybe I’ll even sip some champagne while in flight and be a little sinful.
