New website - On the road travel
Recently, I met with a company just starting out in the travel website space. I find their technique and angle for travel fits right into my current mold. As a woman who has traveled extensively, I have done to backpack thing; the family Holiday Inn thing; I have done the closest restaurant late-night business travel thing.
Today, when I search online for recommendations on my vacation travel, I am now looking for something unique - better than a youth hostel - more interesting than a chain hotel. I want a restaurant that is authentic and local, that won't give me food poisoning. I don't mind paying a little more if I can get in-between, authentic experience.
The truth is, you can't find the middle place without speaking to a reliable source who has been there and tested it out for you. On the road travel was founded by a group of women who feel exactly the same way but rather than dream about it, they made it happen.
The result, a progressive website (dare I say 2.0) where people like you and me can search the world for hotel, restaurant and places to see that are based on the first-hand travel experiences and the objective opinions of local editorial staff.
So if you want to find a hotel in Brazil, at On the road travel, you can sift through recommendations from someone who knows what you want and actually lives there to confirm their choices.
The website is still working out its kinks and the team is still looking to expand - but check out www.ontheroadtravel.com and see for yourself what original, authentic and relevant travel advice looks like.
