Toronto weekendtrips.com

What are you doing this weekend? Renting a movie, grocery shopping, running errands? For too many Torontonians, weekends are defined by whether or not you own a cottage in Muskoka or are able to haggle an extra day off from work. The truth is, Toronto is surrounded by hundreds of one day or two day adventures that are easy to find and don’t require you to have more than a weekend. After traveling to Niagara on the lake a couple weekends in a row and experimenting with the many neighborhoods of Toronto, I was searching online for something a little different and came upon weekendtrips.com. The website was founded by a couple of Toronto locals who believed that there is lots you can do on a weekend – and there are 52 of them in a year- so why not get out there an explore.

Weekendtrips.com is organized by duration - day trips, weekend trips, or long weekends. So if you are thinking of getting away for the day, sift through the many options of day trips such as Zipling at Elora Gorge, a Niagara Winery Tour, or a day of sailing from the Toronto waterfront. Two years ago I booked a day trip through weekendtrips.com for my husband and twin sister to go soaring through the sky in a glider plane with the York Soaring Association. We had an amazing time.

If you are looking to really make the most of your two day weekend, try one of the full weekend trips packed full of bed and breakfast, casino, spa and golf getaways. And for those looking to try something a little longer, there are long weekend packages available through out the year.  I can’t wait to try out the Quebec Ice Hotel this coming winter.

So this weekend when you are cooped up in inside and ill at the thought of venturing to Queen Street – again - visit www.weekendtrips.com and get the juices flowing.
