Ross Neilsen in concert

Last week I had the opportunity to see Ross Neilsen live in concert. I had mentioned a year ago in my blog how fond I was of his album, Where I'm from, and how his combination of blues styles and honest lyrics made for an excellent addition to my folk and blues collection. Well last week I got to experience his passion up close and personal at The Cameron House in Toronto.

Small, dark and slightly seedy bars are the ideal place to hear live blues and Ross managed to fill the room with his powerful voice, steel guitar and thundering stomp. The best song of the night, Badlands - about his own crossroads journey across Canada. Next time he passes through, I'll be there for sure.

Check out his tour schedule
