the vagabond poet

From the backwoods of British Columbia to the busy streets of Tokyo, Brenda is as comfortable starting a campfire as she is navigating the largest city in the world. Her favourite award? One from the Tokyo Azabu Fire Department for putting out a street fire she discovered as a teenager.

Brenda always wanted to be a writer, and built her career as a copywriter, Creative Director and marketing lead. Her favourite job is the one she has right now; writing and working with her strongest supporter, her husband, Reuven. Her proudest moment was publishing her first book, Trading Pizza for Ramen.  When she’s not working, Brenda is snuggling with her rotund dog or bearded dragon, painting abstractly or baking for family and friends.

Brenda is a firm believer in the importance of multiculturalism and cultural diversity. Growing up as a Third Culture Kid, she believe it is important for children to grow and learn in an environment where all cultures are celebrated. It helps them with acceptance but also with their learning and experience.

She lives by the motto “You’ll never regret being kind” and believes a walk in the forest can solve writing blocks and dampened spirits. Honest, creative and kind, Brenda wants to make the world a little better for everyone around her.

I aim to nurture creativity and innovation in others

Connect

the invite
In an ideal world, I'll invite you to dinner and carefully plan a feast that I feel reflects our potential friendship. I'll then ask you seemingly strange questions at dinner to learn more about your background and interests.

Chat

storytelling
I’ll share some wild stories about my experience, successes and failures. My husband will pipe in with tumultuous startup stories of his own. We’ll eat and laugh and eat some more.

Inspire

get out there!
That night, when you get home and put your feet up, you’ll remember that business idea or art project you want to try, and suddenly it won’t feel out of reach. You are feeling confident and curious.
